have you ever thought of making you're own?

Ah.... If I had the time to do a bit of homework and then assemble it... How hard is it, by chance? I'm not dedicated to lasers, it's just a hobby...

Hi Luke, folks!
I just found this Vision damage caused by laser
In a small town not far away from Moscow, Vladimir, a group of young people who were celebrating a music festival/meeting,have suffered severe injuries caused by too strong laser output. Originally the music festival was planned open air but the bad weather made the organization to move into a big tent. The laser was supposed to work only in open sky conditions but the new circumstances turned it to be hazardous for those people´s safety and health. About 16 to 30 persons.
Any french people around? Le défilé du 14-Juillet: Vive la Republique Française!!!!
Ingrid Betancourt has been honoured with the Légion d´honneur.
Cheers!

Apart from the class 3a 680nm [red] pointer,
I also have two helium-neon gas lasers that I got cheep from a disco when it closed down both run on 240v mains and dont have any power output labels left on them the largest is in a heavy steel case about 10Lb, and 18 x 6 x 6 inches in size, the glass looped tube (inside it) is about a foot long and 1 1/2 inches diameter, it has a microphone input and reaction control (pattern size) was used to draw squigely patterns on a wall by bouncing the beam off a mirror that is attached to a small speaker coil, and then outside for all to see, manufactured sometime in the late 1970`s early 80`s, I got my mits on it in late 80`s (cant remember quite when), one thing is can you think of any way to work out what the power output is (aproximatly) , it gives a good long beam but wont burn anything :(
