Hi, I am having problems with uploading Seti results (and QMC and Einstein on 4 different computers, not networked, but no problems with ABC, Cosmo, SetiBeta, Spinhenge or WCG) my messages (on one computer) now say this, for example: 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|Einstein@Home|Started upload of h1_1064.10_S5R3__513_S5R3b_1_0 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/EinsteinAtHome_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|QMC@HOME|Started upload of two_470_peptidsm-ecp2.139_2_0 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://qah.uni-muenster.de/qah_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|QMC@HOME|Started upload of two_470_peptidsm-ecp2.139_2_1 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://qah.uni-muenster.de/qah_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|QMC@HOME|Started upload of one2_357_peptidexp-ecp2.2786_0_0 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://qah.uni-muenster.de/qah_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|QMC@HOME|Started upload of one2_357_peptidexp-ecp2.2786_0_1 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://qah.uni-muenster.de/qah_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 23ap08ab.25450.10706.10.8.53_1_0 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 06mr08ae.6297.16014.16.8.221_0_0 15/06/2008 9:02:10 PM||[file_xfer_debug] URL: http://setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/file_upload_handler 15/06/2008 9:02:13 PM||[file_xfer_debug] FILE_XFER_SET::poll(): http op done; I check the servers, they are all fine, but I get anything from 1.67kb upload to 75% upload sets and variations on http error. Any suggestions? |

Hi, I am having problems with uploading Seti results (and QMC and Einstein on 4 different computers, not networked, but no problems with ABC, Cosmo, SetiBeta, Spinhenge or WCG) I could solve a similar problem by switching from htt protocol version 1.1 to version 1.0. To do so, you must create a text file named cc_config.xml in your BOINC data directory (if it doesn't exist already). The data directory is mentioned in the message tab of BOINC manager (the default is C:\program files\BOINC). With notepad or a similar editor, enter (copy&paste) the following into that file: <cc_config> <options> <http_1_0>1</http_1_0> </options> </cc_config>There are no lower case 'L' characters in that code, only digits '1'. More information to cc_config you can find here. In BOINC Manager (Advanced view) select menu 'Advanced->Read config file' to activate the new configuration. Hope that helps. Hi, I am having problems with uploading Seti results (and QMC and Einstein on 4 different computers, not networked, but no problems with ABC, Cosmo, SetiBeta, Spinhenge or WCG) Thanks Gundolf, yes it was on http vers 1.1, I have modified the cc_config.xml to http vers 1.0 as you suggested and this change has worked! (at least on the first of 4, I expect the others will be just fine too when I've copied over the cc_config file) Problem solvered. Such a little change can make a whole lot of difference. I see this HTTP 1.0 thing seems to solve a handful of problems around here. Perhaps someone could ask David Anderson if it could be made into an option via BOINC Manager's Advanced -> Options menu to ease the troubleshooting process for others. |

Perhaps someone could ask David Anderson if it could be made into an option via BOINC Manager's Advanced -> Options menu to ease the troubleshooting process for others. I agree, I did look at the boinc config file advice - but it doesn't explain about http vers 1.0 cf vers 1.1, it seemed to default on my rigs to 1.1, and thus caused a few problems. Specifying vers 1.0 in the config file has resolved all of them including http error 417. Delenn |

HTTP messages transit a fair number of idfferent Service Providers on the way from the user to the project and back. If even one of these Providers does not implement http 1.1 correctly, the message does not go through. ![]() ![]() BOINC WIKI |
