ng

Ng is a Cantonese and Hakka transliteration of the Chinese surnames 吳/吴 (Pinyin: Wú) and 伍 (Pinyin: Wǔ), and Hokkien (Taiwanese) and Teochew transliteration of the Chinese surname 黃/黄 (Pinyin: Huáng). It is pronounced [ŋ̩] and means "five." It is sometimes romanized as Ang, Eng, Ing and Ong in the United States and Ung in Australia.

吴 / 吳 (Wú) is the 10th most common Chinese surname in the 2006 List of common Chinese surnames, but used to be the 8th most common in 1990.
