so i am running ubuntu (Gutsy) and two days ago installed the roinc client and manager using apt-get...
i was able to attach to SETI and Einstein perfectly fine, but after i restarted the computer, the client ran automatically, but the manager will not recognize that the client is running. i have attempted to use the "advanced > select computer..." function, but i do not know what to enter as the "host name". do i put the name of the computer, or do i use my account name?

You should put in "localhost" without the quotes. Also, you need to have the parameter --allow_remote_gui_rpc on the command line of ./boinc daemon. You'll have to find out yourself where to put that into your auto-start script.
