One of my computers - or better: the statistics - is missing from the hosts stats. I have 2 almost identical PowerMacs G5, one with dual 2.5GHz and one with Dual 2.7GHz processors. The Dual 2.5GHz machine (3378715) is my office computer and it sometimes happens that it unattaches from SETI@Home. No idea why it does that. It's credit is missing from the host stats. I got both Macs in 2005 and they used to have approximately the same amount of credit. It is also possible, that some of the credit is wrongly assigned to my other computer, since the total user credit appears plausible. How can this happen and can anything be done to regain my credit? |

When a host detaches and reattaches it often creates a new host record with zero credit. If you merge the host records it should show all of the credit for all of the records. On to the real problem, why is the host detaching randomly? The most likely reason is that it is associated with an account manager. If you are using an account manager you need to attach to projects using the account manager, otherwise you will have problems with the client detaching. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

There is nothing that you can do to get the local file back once it has gone, it gets added to every day by default up to a usual max of 30 days stats. Stats sites like BOINCstats and all the other ones should show your last 60 days stats, here are your stats for the host that you mentioned http://boincstats.com/stats/host_graph.php?pr=sah&id=3378715. [EDIT] I see that BOINCstats now only shows 30 days stats for most data, I think it used to be 60 but ICBW. Keith Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

Thanks to both of you. I do not use an account manager. I am attached to several projects, but only SETI@Home detaches itself from my office computer from time to time. You are right that it always restarts from 0 after that happens. However, it seems that the credit of this host is not completely lost but assigned to my other (home) G5. The hosts stats on BOINCStats is also very weird, since it lists projects that do not even have a Mac client. Have you done computer host merges for those projects: On jan 6, for climatepredicito just over 13000 credits added On dec 31,for rosette just over 21000 credits added. The above amounts just happen to be you total credits for those sites. I have noticed, that whenever I do host mergers, all the credits get added into the new host and you get a big spike at the stats sites. SL |

Have you done computer host merges for those projects: PaperDragon, it is possible that I tried to merge some computers. However, this cannot explain the Climateprediction data for my Mac, since there is no Mac client for 2 years now. So how should it add credit from a Windows machine to a Mac? |
