Hey, i tried to create a global team (boinc wide team) but i'm not sure wether that worked or not. Could someone assist me a bit? A step by step explaination would be fine. i did the following: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/teams/ so first i created an account with the email address i'm using in seti@home - with the name of my team, then i created a team with the same name of the team like in seti@home and i'm waiting for an email to validate it was that correct? |

If you go to your account, you'll see your Team there (along with members). Looks like you are both good to go with teams now. Wendy Click Here for BOINC FAQ Service |

yeah, but is it a boinc wide team? Teams are created at each project. So if you want the team to exist at say, Cosmology, then you'd need to create it there as well. Hope this helps. Wendy Click Here for BOINC FAQ Service |

If you want to create a BOINC wide team, you have to do that from the BOINC teams website. Once there, you will have to create a BOINC account, and then create a team. This should then be exported to all projects. The only thing to watch for, is if you make any changes in the BOINC team, those will not get exported. Changes have to be done manually at all individually sites. So it is suggested that you use an email address that will not likley to change: ie, one from gmail, hotmail, ect. SL |

Hi Apologies for tagging on this thread, but I think I'm in a similar situation as the guys above. I've been a BOINC member and had an account just with SETI since the early days. I've recently added a new account on both Climate and Rosetta - all 3 have the same userid and email, and the result is the same cross project ID so all seems to be be well. I am a member of a large forum which wants to encourage it's members to partake in BOINC, so in each project's account pages I created a new team (all with the same name). Obviously I now have 3 separate teams with unique identifiers for that project/team combination. What I really want is a team across all projects so that people can select whatever project they want, plus it would be useful to have stats across the team for all projects reporting in BOINCstats. If I create a global user using the same username and email as the 3 individual IDs how does the information for those get merged. Will I loose the previous credits recorded and the account history? It seems that the account would show as being created today. If I then created a global team with the same name as the 3 individual teams, will all the user details and credits from the individual teams be transferred across to the new team, so allowing me to cross-report projects? Hopefully this makes sense to you guys. The global user/team creation process seems logical, but I'm just wary of what will happen with previously created teams and account. Thanks Oz |

I'm not sure that you can create a BOINC wide team using a name already in use. Best to post over on the BOINC link posted below. Wendy Click Here for BOINC FAQ Service |
