Currently if you set the go-to-blank-screen and set the time to 0 seconds, it doesn't go to blank screen at all. It's necessary to run the pretty graphics for at least one minute.

While this is a very pretty display, it's wasteful of cycles that could be used on the main computing task. In any case, 0 seconds should be 0 seconds; not infinite.

Thanks for all your efforts! The results, though clearly still a work in progress, are impressive!

Why not just right click on your screen to bring up Properties and go to Screen Saver and select None.

Better to select default or blank screensaver. This gives you a screensaver that can be locked, and uses no CPU time of its own.
