Just in case any developers read this - how about a non-static screen-saver? I just burned up a brand new LCD with the lower-left-hand "SETI at home" logo. My own fault, to be sure (obviously it doesn't move, right?) - but it'd be a nice change in the package. |

Welcome to the Seti Forums. I have forwarded a link to this message to BOINC Dev. Just in case any developers read this - how about a non-static screen-saver? I just burned up a brand new LCD with the lower-left-hand "SETI at home" logo. My own fault, to be sure (obviously it doesn't move, right?) - but it'd be a nice change in the package. One thing to consider is that if you let the screensaver just run you might check the "Monitor Power" setting in the Desktop Properties. There you can tell it to tell the monitor to go to sleep after "xx" minutes. You save a little energy and prevent burn-in. As Your machines are hidden, it is difficult to give more exact instructions. Regards Pappa Please consider a Donation to the Seti Project. |

We've passed the info onto the Boinc Developers for their perusal. Sorry this happened to you Pete |
