Week 1:

Teenagers from Outer Space - 1959

*For full screen viewing options just click the link below the video window. :)

Teenagers from Outer Space is a 1959 science-fiction B-movie about an extraterrestrial ship landing on Earth to use it as a farm for its food supply. The crew of the ship includes several teenagers (who ironically look quite old for teenagers), two of whom oppose each other in their activities. The independent film was originally distributed by Warner Brothers.

Thanks, Sirius B,

I think I have about 50 old movies. Maybe I should post one every other day, or third day, since I'll be archiving more along the way.

Voyage To The Planet of Prehistoric Women (1968)

:D

A team of astronauts crash-land on Venus, and find themselves under attack by prehistoric monsters. They kill one of the monsters that turns out to be a god to the Venusian women, bringing the wrath of the alien women down on them and making them determined to destroy the "intruders".

I remember seeing a documentary on perhaps A&E network about the fading Americana of Drive-In theatres. Not many left. I recall when I was a youngster seeing a few with the family and they still used those parking meter style speakers that affixed to your car's rolled down windows....not the more 'modern' technology of tuning your car radio to a specified station.

When I was a young lad (about 32 years ago), there was still a drive in theater in the area, and was a favorite Friday or Saturday night out for my buddies and I.
Park the car, crack open a can of beer, pass the blackberry brandy or Mad Dog 20/20, and let the show start. Vanishing Point was one of the flicks we would often try to see, usually as the 'B' flick.
Time went by and one by one, the outdoor drive in theaters all closed down.
I actually thought about their possible revival 10 or 15 years ago by using low power FM transmission of the soundtrack to the high octane sound systems that have become fairly common in vehicles lately. Full stereo, equalizers, subwoofers and such are now commonplace in many stock car audio systems. Back then, they were mostly part and parcel of the teenage crowd that thought nothing odd about having a car stereo that was worth many times what the wreck they were driving was worth.
But the cost of the real estate to operate a parking lot with a big screen in front of it (a REALLY big screen) along with the various hi-def TV and home audio systems that many people have in their own homes has probably doomed the outdoor theater experience to exist only in the very fond memories of some of us older kids.

Too bad I wasn't quite old enough to take my own car to one. I'd love to take my love to a Drive-In....."Soooo Shexxy'..

Thanks MrGray. I've been trying to get a good copy of this as the one I have was recorded from tv & not a very good copy.

I 1st saw this as a wee lad & for some time afterwards, I was wary of ice cream vans.

Perhaps you should be. If anyone has seen those documentaries about 'The Iceman' who is a convicted mob hitman on HBO maybe? He took on a murderous partner that drove an ice cream truck.....who was really a psycho. He later murdered his 'pal' which was one of perhaps 200 people he killed. He'd tie some up in beech front caves while they were alive and film them being eaten alive by rats.

But ice cream tastes good. Especially the chocolate varieties like Mississippi Mud, Rocky Road, and Moose Tracks.

Anywho.....I've spent the summer touring the country working as an ice cream truck driver. *cues music* "Dum dum DUM!"

Voyage To The Prehistoric Planet - 1965

In the year 2020, cosmonaut Marcia (Faith Domergue) orbits the planet Venus while two astronauts and a robot journey on the surface. Professor Hartman (Basil Rathbone) is also on hand to observe the exploration from a distance. The explorers are attacked by prehistoric beasts, and then lose their robot (and nearly their lives!) in a volcanic eruption that engulfs the planet. They conclude that the Venusians were really human beings who destroyed their civilization with nuclear warfare.
