Rocky was a friend of mine. And though we served on different coasts, we were both in the Navy at one time. Now many of you know, that while on shore duty, sailors would get toghther and form a coffee club, so that there would always be that life-blood available first thing in the morning. So, go ahead and post your messages and chit-chat here, like you were drinking coffee with your mates. Rules: Posts must be 'kid friendly': they may not contain content that is obscene, hate-related, sexually explicit or suggestive. No commercial advertisements. No links to web sites involving sexual content, gambling, or intolerance of others. No messages intended to annoy or antagonize other people, or to hijack a thread. No messages that are deliberately hostile or insulting. No abusive comments involving race, religion, nationality, gender, class or sexuality. Oh, and everyone is welcome here as long as they behave. |

I'll love to share the memory of him with serving a cup of coffee. For Rocky: And since he loved his Jack Daniels, let us have one for him. Cheers. Rocky would have laughed if he could see your comment. :-D Rocky was a good friend who passed away two years ago. He was a very dear friend to some of us here. Anyway, welcome to the board to you. I heard there was a pinball machine in here....and a hidden gambling hall in the back. Are these rumors true? Founder of BOINC team Objectivists. Oh the humanity! Rational people crunching data! I did NOT authorize this belly writing! |

I heard there was a pinball machine in here....and a hidden gambling hall in the back. Are these rumors true? I have a Pachinko machine that I picked up in Naha, but it's been in my locker for years. The only gambling I know of is the nickel slot machine at the EM club. |

Tom - Question: 'What does Point 2' mean? (seriously) |

"Version 2" But this is already Rocky's Coffee Club II (with a Roman numeral) so I couldn't just put a decimal point and the version number, because decimal points don't belong in Roman numerals. The next version will be "Point 3", if another incarnation becomes necessary. |

It has been a hard day being on a course with 7 concentrated hours of education in that module I'm about to specialize in. The teacher was there only for me, so it was one to one teaching. She is the best, she was the one who developed the module and is the one in charge of having it upgraded according to the existing policy, laws and all the rules including every union's agreements. So the course was very rewarding, hard but very informative, she gave me a lot of her pearls, things I wouldn't be able to learn anywhere else. Again, she is the specialist. So I'm off to bed very soon, I'm exhausted. "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |
