The newest app from Crunch3r version 2.4V_Windows_X32_SSE does not work on Win 98SE.

It gives a client error seconds after starting a result.

No, you had the Chicken MMX version, not the Crunch3r SSE version.

There is no lowercase 'v' or Uppercase 'V' in the app_info.xml,
so it wasn't the first or even second release of Crunch3r's Vista Compatible versions.
Sorry, it's been general confusion which version you were using, that wasn't working.

I installed it and it started without problems.

It will take close to a day before I know if it will finish and validate.

Thanx! At least we know the immediate failure on startup is taken care of. Post again when you can verify the results.

This result was restarted on today's crunch3r SSE application at the 99.68% point, having previous been running a KWSN ap several weeks old. So it only ran something like a minute on the new one. But it did validate already, which is comforting.

partial result

I have one in flight which has so far accumulated a bit over a CPU hour, but that is only 4.67% complete, and as my SETI allocation is low, it will be quite a while before that one completes. Still, it is not a prompt failure, so also comforting.

The system has a Pentium III Coppermine CPU under Windows 98 SE.
