Any request to suspend one WU for another would be in my case ignored. The manager seems to be doing quite well by itself both 5.10.13 and 5.8.16. Keep up the banter and good work after all it is in it's eighth year. most of my WUs are deadline OCTOBER I might even go on holiday myself when I retire in 10 days time. What are the chances of two users getting 100% the same units. |

Any request to suspend one WU for another would be in my case ignored. Just in case no one else has noticed, 5.10.20 is now the official release. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Any request to suspend one WU for another would be in my case ignored. I noticed after the upgrade to 5.10.20 that it didn't return the results using the exising Connection Interval of 0.001. I've increased it to 0.010 to see if that fixes it. |

That's one of the little 'features' which got added after 13. I don't remember what the threshold is for sitting on reports after you go below a certain CI, but I'm sure it was measured in hours (maybe a day) rather than minutes. Alinator |

Interesting, the General Preferences page still lists "0" as valid and this is the first I've heard of the change. Oh, well. It will work out in the end. |

I'm pretty sure I saw it mentioned in the BOINC fora somewhere, but not in the stickies IIRC. If your feeling adventurous, you could play around some and maybe find out empirically what that threshold is. ;-) Personally, I wasn't too keen on the idea since I don't like having the fate of a completed result hanging around in an active work file like client_state for hours to days on end, depending on which mode you run in, automatic backup file not withstanding. If a project doesn't want you calling right back after a scheduler session for load management reasons, then they should tell your host to 'clam up' for X after a scheduler session. Alinator |

The BOINC-Wiki is your friend. ;) Well, atleast in instances has taken the time to update the info, often the info is old... The delay in reporting, if there's no other reason for connecting (like asking for more work), is 24 hours. Since most users will ask for more work, it shouldn't really be a problem. Oh, and #6, the "have sporadic connection", it seems that if you hits "Advanced/Retry Communications", you'll report any results immediately after upload. Now, if this is a permanent mode until BOINC-client is re-started or not, I don't know... "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |
