OK, so what does this mean? <core_client_version>5.10.13</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135) </message> ]]> I got about a hundred of them on my q6600 yesterday. I have reloaded the client, and detached/reattached to seti, but I'm now waiting as I've hit the 24 hour download limit! Is it just duff units, or have I got a problem (Rosetta seems to be working fine, but I want to find ET!) Alan Woodford The Greying Lensman |

OK, so what does this mean? From what I can find, it's telling you that the system can't find a certain DLL file. The name I get from doing a search is mspdb80.dll. Don't know whether this is in any way related to the dll that the exit code you're getting is for. It may be another one. I don't run BOINC or SETI on Windows (Linux only) so I can't help you any further. Maybe one of the Windows gurus will know more. Thanks for that! I checked the contents of my setiathome folder, and it doesn't seem to have actually downloaded the program after I reattached! Ah well, I'll get it sorted eventually. Alan Woodford The Greying Lensman |

OK, I detached my projects, uninstalled BOINC, reinstalled it and attached to seti. ARRGGGHHHHHH seems to be a popular term in NC as of late. LOL if you can. Seriously though, I am wondering if Boinc will not try to download the 5.27 app until you get a WU and Boinc is looking for the app to crunch it with. I would let it keep trying to get work for a while and see what happens. Run a bit of Rosetta in the meantime to keep the cpu warm and see what happens if you can snag a Seti WU. Unless not having the file downloaded in the first place precludes the server from sending you work? Let us know what happens with continued work requests, but give it a bit, I am getting 'no work from project' messages on my rigs right now also. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." OK, I detached my projects, uninstalled BOINC, reinstalled it and attached to seti. I think (I'm not sure) but the part I've highlighted above may be a clue. It looks like you've downloaded all of the "auxiliary" files, just not the application. I think that it's waiting until there's actually work available for you before it will send the application itself. At the present time we have only one application, however BOINC is designed for multiple applications. When you actually get a work unit BOINC looks at the work unit and sees what application is required to crunch it. It then looks in your project folder to see if you have the correct application. If you don't, *THEN* it downloads it from the project. (edit) Looks like msatler and I were answering you at the same time and he beat me to it! hehe Jim Some people plan their life out and look back at the wealth they've had.
