I agree. But Lancia Aprilia had such doors in 1937. It also had a single body frame and independent suspensions on all wheels. It is said that Henry Ford was pulled by warden from under it at the Paris Auto Show. A friend of mine had one Lancia Aprilia in the late fifties and we used to go skiing with it. Great car.

Only problem immediately evident is:

The Lancia Aprilia had the steering wheel in the right position, which gave some problems while driving on the right side of the road when overtaking. The second pilot, that was me, had to look out and give the captain permission to start overtaking.
