Which image do we download? There are several on that page. Do we need all of them? If I am using localhost can I just copy the pictures to the Apache directory? Also, BOINC is not showing up as a screensaver. I am running UBUNTU Fiesty Fawn, any ideas? Anybody have any ideas? Save the image that you like from this page. I assume it's the first image on the page that you'd like, so right click on it and save it your pc. The upload it to an image-hosting site such as imageshack or the like. Then on the SETI website, go to Your Account>SETI@home preferences and click on Edit SETI@home preferences at the bottom. The second last option on this editable page is "URL of background image". Enter the url of the image from the site where you have uploaded the image to. Click on Update preferences at the bottom of the page. Then open Boinc manager, go to the projects tab, select SETI and click on update. I assume that you'll have to be connected to the internet when your screensaver kicks in for it to be able to display the image that you have just updated. As far activating the screensaver itself on Linux, it's best if you ask that question on the Linux Forum, as you'll get a quicker response there. |
