So, starting at 8:43, my machine started and ran Benchmarks for seven hours and fifteen minutes! When I noticed (finally!) and tried to tell it to run Benchmarks (as sort of a half-ass reset), it gave the excuse that it alreday was!.. Had to exit BOINC and restart, and things were fine. I then ran Benchmarks manually, and it ran for a minute, reported, and returned to work. What happened? |

Looks like something happened to your clock and it was going to run benchmarks until 1 minute after 2008-06-06 08:43:31. That is the second clock related thing I've read about on here today. Sun Spots? |

Looks like something happened to your clock and it was going to run benchmarks until 1 minute after 2008-06-06 08:43:31. not sunspots... Operator ignorance (stupidity?) See, I had just written a simple spreadsheet to track my meagre investments...It used the @NOW spreadsheet function. To check on how it was operating, I temporarily reset the computer clock to a year hence, looked at the result, and set the clock back. BUT... When I set the clock forward, BOINC, slaving a way in the background, noticed that it hadn't checked the BenchMarks in over a year (!) so it immediately started running them. It hadn't finished when I reset the clock back to the present, so BOINC just settled in for a looong BenchMark run.... The Law of Unintended Consequences strikes again... |

LOL..... Look on the bright side. Now you know not to do that again when BOINC is running! :-) Alinator |
