For those who are worried about losing the time they’ve invested in results that are presently in “Uploading†limbo and approaching deadline, note that in Matt’s Can’t talk … Debugging message he says, […] We also updated all the BOINC-side code to bring the SETI@home project in line with the current BOINC source tree and a few things broke, namely our validators and assimilators. These aren't project critical for the time being, so we're postponing dealing with these until we deal with the real problem at hand: getting people to connect to our data servers. As long as the validator is down, nothing is going to happen to WUs with overdue results. Accordingly, as I read the situation, there’ll be a ‘window of opportunity’ for us to complete our uploads before their lateness has any consequences. ![]() |

I have results in my cache due tomorrow. I hope that the due dates will be adjusted. What if the validator turns back on and there still are those unsent results in my cache??? I speak for myself, but the same is probably true for many, if not most. |

I speak for myself, but the same is probably true for many, if not most. It doesn't make sense to "rush" this. The validators add load. Once they get everything in and the load goes back to normal, that's when it makes sense to turn the validators back on. |
