Thought I'd share.
Boinc was 'exiting' quickly, so I switched to the CLI version to see what was happening.

I reset the Seti and LHC projects, because I felt that those two were running, and causeing my crash. Setiathome.exe was running according to boincview.

So.. reset seti.
Reset LHC.
Then a climateprediction graphics window pops up (remember, I'm running the CLI, so there should be NO graphics at all)
And then I notice the major error.

C:\\Program Files\\BOINC>boinc_cli.exe -allow_remote_gui_rpc

To pause/resume tasks hit CTRL-C, to exit hit CTRL-BREAK

... now.. detached from climateprediction.

and had some more crashes.
detaching from seti seemed to fix the CLI from crashing.

Alex!

do you have a drwatson dump?

2 day ago (gui 4.07, 4.03 cli) received the also an c0000005 (rubber) code
But I'm not using sp2 at home so far...

With the drwatson, build in nt and XP, more detailed infos can be taken, even afther abend.

Finaly you will see the pocedure/function causing the "hanging" situation

run.execute Drwtsn32.exe [enter]

be aware to change 10 10 to 99 99, so in future, 99 events can be "managed"

you will refind the c0000005 (might several or others), doubleclick the last entry (usualy the last mesured "abend" is on the lowest line) to open, go down down down. look the infos.

an example, snipped off

Funktion: NtWaitForMultipleObjects
77882873 b8e9000000 mov eax,0xe9
77882878 8d542404 lea edx,[esp+0x4] ss:09eb9e33=????????
7788287c cd2e int 2e
7788287e c21400 ret 0x14

If you can find something like above, this could help to narrow the "bad moment" causing functions.

Nope.
Only because I wouldn't do anything with the data if I had it.
So, I had DrWatson logging disabled when I set up my system.
