Hello! It's possible to delete "report-results-immediately" in Crunch3r´s client...?! (to use ONLY the cpu-affinity :-) I use V5.9.0(.32) over V5.8.15... Friendly greetings! |

On Cruncher's homepage, it just says features: CPU Affinity includes BOINC Manager It does not have rep.res.immediately. I am using his 5.8.11 client. It looks like it does not have rep.res.immediately. This client caused me a lot of trouble as a lot of results are uploaded and work units are downloaded one after other in short period, my slow internet connection (64kbit./s)is choked. I need a client which does not report and download a lot of work units at the same time, ie I need rep.res.immediately. If V5.9.0(.32) does report results immediately, that is the one I am looking for. |

Perhaps Crunch3r can advise if there is a way to disable the RRI in his Boinc manager if the user desires to. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Perhaps Crunch3r can advise if there is a way to disable the RRI in his Boinc manager if the user desires to. I have had Boinc lockups from time to time on 5.8.15 and the previous Boinc version, neither one has RRI. I have always attributed it to overclocking a bit too far on my rigs. Backing the OC off a bit or adjusting RAM settings usually sorted it out. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

The V5.8.11 client is the "original" from Berkeley, or? So he have no extend options... The V5.9.0(.32) from Crunch3r have "CPU-affinity" and... "report-results-immediately"... and this is maybe my problem with the frozen BOINC... I don't know... If you have 64kb connection, then you have "dial-up" internet. (It's the right word for "you must call everytime to the service if you would like to go to internet"?) You don't have DSL? So it's not good to do "report-results-immediately", because you cannot do this... ;-) "report-results-immediately" is "only" a option, to report the results immediately after upload... Request for new work will be normal like in the "normal" other Versions... (I have/had small downloads (one, two...) but I have/had big downloads of new work too, 20 to 30 WUs, because the asking for new work depend to the "Result duration correction factor" (too)) |
