Exactly how do you know that they hang? (Some people do not mean the same thing a programmer by the word hang). What did you try to do to resolve the problem? In the 'Tasks' tab, they are showing 'Progress 97.944% Uploading' and 'Progress 37.237% Uploading' respectively. This seems to be another occurence of a problem that's been discussed on the beta boards in Error on file upload: Socket Read incomplete. These two cases of mine again exhibit the possiibly related factor I commented on there: two results from the same project finishing within a second or so of each other. It's perhaps becoming more likely with short WUs, multi-core processors etc. In the Beta discussion, Josef Segur commented "There's been an active discussion of this problem on the boinc_alpha mailing list for a few days" (27 Jan 2007). My WUs are on a machine running BOINC 5.8.9, which is post-public-release (though still in gamma testing, I fear). JM7 - you'll be reading the dev list - any further news?
