Don't know if this would apply to this problem, but I've come across a couple of posts which seem to indicate that 5.8.3 is a little squirrelly, so you might want to try the newer release of the Dev version. HTH, Alinator |

The Task had been finished, i checked the firewall that was permit for BOINC and relative port number such as 80 443. Also from the Boinc Home Page: News January 22, 2007 We're still working on internal network/database issues. We're patching and rebooting the upload server now. This is probably why your SETI@home clients are having trouble sending/receiving data. January 15, 2007 We are experiencing a database problem that is leading to erratic work distribution. We will run diagnostics and rebuild the affected tables(s) tomorrow. ![]() |

You are getting repeated 26/1/2007 2:28:11|SETI@home|Error on file upload: socket read incomplete: asked for 12922, got 7422: No such file or directory and one 26/1/2007 2:30:56|SETI@home|Error on file upload: socket read incomplete: asked for 12922, got 7422: Transport endpoint is not connected These are nothing to do with the server problems. Your copy of BOINC is telling the SETI servers to expect a file of size 12922 bytes, but the file it's actually sending is only 7422 bytes. Basically, BOINC has got muddled, and is trying to send the wrong file. I don't think there is anything you can do about it, except abort the transfer - fortunately it doesn't happen often, so you haven't lost much. |

Help. My seti frame (which I haven't looked at forever) says it is finished and needs to send my results but keeps saying it can't connect. It's been doing this since I started checking on it just the other day. I have dial up (dedicated line always on) and my seti says I have 7699 hours total computer time. Why won't it connect so it can download (or upload, whatever it is) my results? I can connect to the seti home web site by going to explorer, but I don't know how to get my results to go back to them? It always seemed to do all this on its own in the past? Barbara |

Have you installed BOINC? Or is this a Classic S@H install? My guess is that it is a Classic S@H install. Please go here. and download the latest BOINC version (there will be a new version out in a couple of weeks). Classic was discontinued just over a year ago. BOINC is a framework through which you can attach to multiple DC projects. There is a short list here, [url=http://www.boincsynergy.com[/url], and here among others. ![]() ![]() BOINC WIKI |
