I joined first to seti@home, an recently to climateprediction.
After 24 hours running program, work unit for climate prediction is not downloaded.
I have cable to connect to internet, high speed.
I think proces of download work units and upload results are currently scheduled in the resource share time.
This will reduce eficience of boinc in general.
I think this proces should be executed independly, as I open internet explorer and click for download any file.

It should be downloading work independently of whether the project is funning or not.

It might be the case that youdo not have sufficient free disk space allocated to BOINC to run CPDN as CPDN requires at least 600Mb free. The recommended minimum CPU speed is 800MHz, running with anything slower is an exercise in frustration.

If you are not getting messages about not enough space from CPDN, try resetting CPDN to see if that helps.

Thanks John for your comments
I wil take a look but I think is not my case:
CPU AMD Athlon XP 1700+, 512 Mb ram, about 900 Mb of free space, 2 HD (40 Gb, 4 Gb)
Boinc is installed on second disc (4 Gb), reason I can change boot disc (W9x, W2000 or WXP) and have allways BOINC working.
Boinc Dics tab shows
Free space 160.68 Mb BOINC software 5.12 Mb
Used space: no-BOINC 3.08 Gb BOINC free space 718.33 Mb
Used space: BOINC 63.28 Mb SETI@home 6.01 Mb

Uploading/downloading is not figured in the resource share...

718.33Mb should be enough. Have you tried resetting CPDN?

That is principally right, but if the preferences are set to use up to 1GB, then it won't download. Had the same problem trying to run BOINC on a 256 MB ram disk. No go.
