Religion is not nonsense. However, religion is not science either, even there those that would treat religious dogma as science.

Glad to see you found this forum, Akhenaton.
Looking at your posts in the "Scientists ONLY," I take you are a scientist? If so, what do you research?

Religion is a band-aid that man invented to provide an explanation for the nature of the world (or the universe), and his own nature.

It's not needed anymore IMO.

Well, I did find it odd for Es to name her thread, "OMG, they killed Einstein!" (As in the Einstein crunching project.)

Well. In my conviction, a true religion is any religion which teaches that "truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come", and encourages their members to "bring up your children in light and truth" and to "seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith.".

What else do you study in all material sciences than "things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come"?

And, as I said in the other thread, that - defining faith biblically: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."(Hebrews 11:1, KJV) - each one starting a task has faith because they can't see the results yet, but are convinced that the results hoped for will come. None of us has seen any evidences yet that there is intelligent life out there, but we are hoping it, and go on searching. That's faith - may the atheists deny as much as they want.

He already has such a thread: Scientists ONLY.

Let me guess.
It was a direct result of my pointing this out that the thread was moved. Even though the thread was there in plain sight for about five months.

A true religion ? You have to be joking! Religion is man made, made up by those that wanted or needed control of others and political gain, and a million other crazy reasons, none of them true than any other, all are equally false.

Equally crazy idea, and no more true or non true as any other religion Pastafarianism

And why is it called Greek Mythology ? Did not these ancients believe in these gods, as much as many believe in our current day so called gods ? In 1000 years will the gods of today be also called mythology ? Maybe. It is what it is, why are we so much smarter than the Greeks ? SCIENCE! So now our gods have to be more complex, more powerful, more of everything. Who knows what the gods will be like in 1000 years, except just as crazy as they are currently. And in 1000 years our current so called religions may be called Christian Mythology, Hebrew Mythology, Islamic Mythology etc...

And let me add, only a fool would pray to a false god.

How can you know whether or not there is a god, even a false one? It's impossible to prove that there is any god, but it is equally impossible to prove that there is none. So, even if there is the slightiest chance of 0.0000.....0001% probability that there might be a power which could be called god, so why should anyone who takes that probability as a fact be a fool?
I mean, let's be serious: how little is the probability for our telescopes to find intelligent extraterrestrial life, and nonetheless all of us believe in finding this. Are we fools? I'd rather say NO.
