Bind a Seti-Process to a single CPU

Hi, i whish to bind a seti calculation to a specific cpu (core). it was (and is?) possible with commandline parameters, but not with boinc .... i think it will have an advantage to the processing speed, because we spare the process-cpu switches (load the cpu registers and cache ....). i hope you see what i mean. good luck all |

Hi, You can do it thru the Task Manager windows of Windows but as soon as the current units finishes and a new unit starts you will have to do it again. There used to be an optimized version that had that ability but I am not sure it worked real well or was easy to use. |

This is called "setting the affinity" of a science application. And it has been on the todo-list for quite a while. |
