i don't know what is wrong with this setiathome, but i'd like to participate - however - there is no point transferring files as they are now. DLL's should never be transferred as they are. fix this, and lot's of people would live happier again. API |

Please clarify. DLL are executable files that all programs need. Sure, i just hate when any unpacked data is sent over the net because many of the networks are protected from sending/receiving .dll files (as well as .exe files). For some time now, i have been unable to crunch any seti workunits because i cannot download libfffw3f-3-1-1-a.dll file. this, i suppose, is a common problem. API |

Please clarify. DLL are executable files that all programs need. Yes, some companies block any executables to prevent the installation of unauthorized or malicious software. Unfortunately most of the projects send out executables in this fashion. It is the policy that you need permission to use Boinc on any computers that you do not own. Please clarify. DLL are executable files that all programs need. In addendum to what Aurora said above, it's is also known that many companies block compressed .ZIP and .RAR files, so compressing them won't help either. |
