But teamUSA hasn't even overtaken Seti.Netherlands yet and their population is what, 16 million, less than L.A. ;-)

I see absolutely no problem with the new credit system, since everyone else's RAC has dropped just as much. It did bother me a bit at first, until I wondered about the litmus test.....How does Enhanced RAC compare to other projects? Will two equally configured rigs report the same RAC, with each running a different project?

Does BBR know you are posting this? As a memeber of BBR I would think you would be at the Spearhead of the arguement for increasing it seeing how you guys pretty much had a lock down on the #1 spot you guys were out pretty much staying even with SETI.USA and we were all beating S.G by at least 100K a day. You were poised to pass S.G in 800 days and then we were going to pass you in something shy of 1300 days.

Now as it is you are getting completly dominated by S.G and SETI.USA

Im by no means trying to flame but I would think you guys would want to have the credit fixed a little bit in your favor.
Hehehe, I should hope they know I'm posting this. I'm the Starfire moderator. ;-)

We like RAC as much as the next guy. But to want it to favor our team, that's unethical. Here's Daniel's thread he posted at Starfire, hoping for our support- http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,16224883

Also a couple other threads at Starfire pertaining to the "strike"-
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,16223135
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,16233949

Some of us have backed off on Seti this past month or so, until they get the bugs worked out. Some may back off because of the strike. Me, I'm on strike against the strike, and am ramping up Seti production.

Both of those are Penitum D's @4Ghz, same memory config, also, so either would work as a reference to my Rosestta D, shown here- http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=226355

WinterKnight, I'll post some info in that thread for you when I have the chance.

Believe it or not, the majority of our BBR members aren't concerned about the new credit system. I know I'm not. We're obviously concerned with getting the bugs fixed, but we knew the credit system was changing. We realize that most of the increased credits we got were due to the fact that the optimized client from crunch3r was so much faster than the stock client. Now that optimization is built into the stock client, advantages of optimization are much smaller and so should the difference between credits gotten by we who optimize. But more science is getting done by unoptimized clients thanks to a faster stock client, and we're happy about that.

Credits and competition are fun, but they aren't as fun if the playing field is skewed, either within the project or between projects. It was nice thinking we might be #1, but that's not why alot of us crunch. We're an old team, and have had our ups and downs in the stats over the years with Seti, but we don't base our whole existence on being the #1 seti team or beating some other team. Our team is a diverse community with Seti@Home as common thread, and our team and forum is a small part of an even larger community.

Whether we're first, last, or somewhere in between, we'll still be BroadbandReports.com Team Starfire.
