I get the error message, "Invalid or missing authenticator." How do I get a valid authenticator? I am using Windows XP. I have copied the account ID number that I received in the e-mail message, but I still get this error message. Is this account ID number the authenticator? If so, why doesn't the error message say, "Invalid or missing account ID number"? I have seen messages that say, "detach and re-attach." I see the drop-down menu item that says, "Attach to Project", but I don't see any "detach" option. SETI@home wants us to process the data for them. Why do they make it so difficult for us? Why do we have to ask other users, who might be giving us bogus information? We are the blind leading the blind. |

I dont know what mean this error. For some reason surely you are not logged correctly on setiserver. The detach option is in project tab, right click on seti@home line and select detach. But surely you cannot detach if you are not attached. My idea is that BOINC develop is in a beta level not in a final release. They do a mistake to release this soo early. |

To detach from the project: Project Tab Right Click on the Project Name will open a pop-up menu on which is Detach Please read this first before detaching. --
Regards, Paul - Just slowly BOINCing along...
|

If you have successfully communicated with this computer before do nothing, it should straighten itself out. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |
