what do i do with boinc?

im a new user, and i have no knowledge of whats going on.It would be great if you tell me whats going on my pc |

While your computer is on and BOINC is running, it is using cpu cycles that other programs are not using. If you are using the computer for something like word processing, checking email or surfing the web (Any normal activity on the computer) you are only using a tiny portion of the amount of real processing power you hae. The rest of it would normally go to waste. Boinc "borrows" that power to process it's work. It is taking the information stored in the "work units" that it gets from us and does millions of calculations on it and processes the data into "results" that are sent back to us. Others live life day by day and look back at the wealth of experiences and enjoyment they've had. |
