For the past couple of days my system has always deffered comms. Why is this? Should I deinstall the program and start again?

THeres no need to re-install anything. Right now, there is absolutely no work at all being created, due to the Splitters being off. If you click at the top, on Home, go over to Participate, click on Server Status, you'll see what I am talking about. The link above that is the Technical News. Read the first 2 entries, they will explain why there is no work a lot better than I can do. Hope this helps.
