Hello all,

My question is;

Could a version seti@home be created to take advantage of the huge computing power of todays graphics cards via directx/opengl or via the shader units etc? Would be great if the graphics card could be used to run an instance of seti@home as well as the CPU. :)
The above would offer an easy and cheap upgrade path to all users i.e. want more power = add another graphics card :)

Regards

Luth

Just as a quick answer, the Floating Point on video cards are not accurate enough. For graphics they are fine (who's going to notice if a few pixels are a small percentage off of the correct color?), but for the intense purposes of these projects, it is not accurate enough.
