I am using the Debian boinc software (5.2.15) but get an "Account not found" error trying to Attach to the SETI project.

I have been running Classic since 2000 but now need to switch to Boinc. I have followed the instructions to convert my Classic account to a Boinc account and I can log in to the Boinc account onthe web site. I have the account key and I have also set a password (both work fine for logging me in on the web site).

However, when I try to use boincmgr to Attach, I enter the SETI website URL which is accepted and bouncmgr then asks whether I want to use an existing account. I enter my email address and my password and get the error: "Account not found. Check the email address and password, and try again". This happens whether I use the password or the account key.

How do I find out what is going wrong or, better, work round the problem?

I have found a workround...

I was able to attach to the project using the command line program boinc_cmd (as described in http://wiki.debian.org/BOINC). This only required the URL and the account key and worked fine. I was then able to use boincmgr to watch the task download and start running.

I suspect my problem with attaching using boincmgr is because the email address I use for my SETI@Home account contains a "+" sign. Maybe boincmgr does not correctly URL-encode the email address, or something.
