A good place to start is the BOINC Wiki at

http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

and follow the links to installing the BOINC client software.

also check out the hints for new users at

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=22458#191732

If you are still stuck try asking for help in the Windows forum at

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_forum.php?id=12

problems with bionc (error 500) seems to right itself if you run the repair wizard twice in quick succession every time the problem occurs. this is probably not the right way of going about things, but it's working for me. have been running seti almost continuosly since last post, which is something of record!

Glad to hear it worked out for you.

Interesting. You may want to alert the developers about this.
