Hi, We've just put BOINC onto a new PowerBook and there's no screensaver available in the system preferences. We've re-booted after installing other software, etc, and it's still not there. The machine seems to be processing SETI data properly, but it'd bve a good thing to have the screensaver running as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Bests, Herb |

Did you do the "Standard GUI" install? It is the only one that includes the screensaver automatically. If you did the "Menubar" install, I can point you to instructions for getting the screensaver to work, but it'd be better (in my opinion) to use the Standard one instead. The name of the screensaver is BOINCSaver, and it _should_ be in the normal Mac screensaver selection, under System Preferences. I see you've hidden your computers - click on my name and you can see everything that others can see about your systems. Having them visible is a very good tool for us when looking for problems, and there's no security hole there. Oh, and welcome to the BOINC Team MacAddict! :-) |
