Adding a time stamp column/field for each message line would be useful. Add a clear message log function. Currently you have to close out of Boinc completely to do so. Force the message display to autoscroll to most recent entry after a new entry is made OR reverse display and order most recent (top) to oldest (bottom). |

There IS such a column: if you use the Windows version, just right-click on a arbitrary column header (one is diplayed at least, I suppose) and select the other columns you want to be displayed. Left clicking on one of the column headers sorts the messages ascending / descending with respect to the content of the actual column. (This is a standard behaviour of such multi-column-controls and works also on other tabs in BOINC). For other OSs there must be a similar way to obtain the same result. I can receive 6-10 messages per displayed second. If you do a sort by message or project, you cannot get the messages back in exact sequencial order. They need to add tenths or hundredths of a second for me. And a "Clear Message Log" function would be nice. --Pete > There IS such a column:... > Raphael Schweizer > Schweizer Informatik > |

Well, yes, I agree. But most of the time you can reconstruct the order by thinking abou the meaning of each message ('cause you wont get the same error message twice a second - at least I don't get them SO frequently :-). A "clear log" would be nice (especially for 'run as service' mode, a -silent or -non_verbose switch would be great). Raphael Schweizer Schweizer Informatik |
