I have 2 results reporting end-state status as "app error -6", but have not found a reference to this in searches against the message board. Am still looking for error code info, but if someone is familiar with this error, its meaning, or what I should do to fix the specific error indicated by return code -6, please reply to this thread.

Thanks,

Robert

I'm getting them too, on all my machines. 6 or 7 in the last 2 days.

more information on the error can be found in the details of the result (accountpage - results - result-id)
here's what mine told me:
<message> - exit code -6 (0xfffffffa)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
SETI@home error -6 Bad workunit header
!swi.data_type || !found || !swi.nsamples
File: ..\\seti_header.cpp
Line: 194

in another thread it has been mentioned that a batch of work had been created with a 0 (zero) filesize or rather, a file with no actual work in it.
this was a serverside mishap, no user-intervention is required in this case.

can you look farther back in the logs to see if there is a download message indicating 0 length files?

I know I have my logs but, doing messages is pretty beyond me right now ... sigh ...
