Here there is a WU with 3 complete results. All of the results have been competed with no errors but this WU doesn't have any final credit yet.

Good crunching,

Why do different computers (hosts) get different amount of credit for the same WUs?

Because the credits are based on YOUR system not the work unit itself. The credits are based on how your system interacts with the workunit and since your system and my system are different the points asked for are different. Ideally they would be in the same neighbohood but some people are overclocking and have not checked properly and have errors, some peoples computers crash mid unit, more errors, etc, etc.
That is why we only get credit AFTER at least 3 computers have crunched the SAME unit AND returned the results. AND even then we don't all get the amount we asked for, we get the middle of the 3 requests. That way if your computer asks for 300 for the same unit mine asks for 20 then we wait until someone else asks for say 55, then we all get 55 because it is in between. However in that example we may not get any credit until the unit is sent back out because of the big difference in the spread.
Once all the users come over the credits will come faster, because more people will be crunching.

The 3 returns before granting credit is not a number set in stone, but may be a hint as to why the database needs "work" today.
Also if the 3 returns are way off in terms of the points being requested, it will probably be sent out for crunching to verify which is correct. For instance comuter 1 asks for 300 points, computer 2 asks for 55 points and computer 3 asks for 35 points!

It will be slow at first, but as more people crunch the same units it will pick up. Later you will not even notice it. It was the same on the Beta Test.

So what happens when some one joins downloads wu and then gives up, how long before BOINC sends it out to another person so the get 3 verifications? or does it just add up in your pending credit!

I think there was something up with the validator Josep. I had a WU with three results that wasn't getting validated. It just went through.

You se the deadlines there, like by WU from yesterday it is 7.7. which means if WU will not return till that date system will send it to somebody else.
Som im bad case it can take a weeks or years ;o)))
I hope it will not.
Keep running ...

Hi Jaaku.

When a WU isn't returned by it's expiration date, the scheduler puts it back in the cue to be resent.

Edit: Ah, Slavko beat me to it. :)

You can find them on BOINC.dk, but they aren't working yet with this project.

Here's the info posted by Janus regarding what you need to do to an old sig to make it work, once they get turned on at boinc.dk. If you get a sig now, just make the following change in the code, and though it will only be blank now, it should fill in once it comes online.

For all of you people out there using the beta signatures from BOINC.dk:
New signatures will be available for this new project as soon as a few start-up problems are resolved.

When it starts to work, you need to write "sah" instead of "boinc_beta" or "boinc_alpha" in the URL.

As well as changing your user ID to your S@H ID. ;-)
