It appears to be a problem at Berkley, not a problem with your computer. Hope they get it fixed soon as I am running out of work units on several of my faster computers.

both work uploads and downloads are on the same server.

from the frontpage

We are experiencing heavy traffic on our data server. This is preventing some workunit/core client downloads. We are working on the problem.

ps. I wish people would stop hitting the "update" and "retry transfer" buttons, BOINC will just try again a bit later and sorts it out by itself.

I changed my prefs to connect every 3 days and was able (luckily!) to grab a few dozen WU's in case the issue isn't resolved shortly.
Just changed it back to 0.01 now that each machine has a stock of WU's.

Now if only I could report all the completed ones!!!

Patrick,

BOINC will retry to upload and report the finished results at random intervals untill it has uploaded/reported them all, no intervention required.

About the "connect to...", you might want to set it to 0.5 or maybe even 1 day as standard.
The servers are offline for a few hours every wednesday for a backup and some routine maintenance and you might run out of work at 0.01 day ;)

Thanks for the tip!
I'll update that setting now.

Another option is to connect to some other project so your computer will have something to do while SETI is down. If you only want it to run as a 'backup' project i.e. only when SETI doesn't have work to do, set its resource share to a low value. (The computer I'm on is connected to 3 projects, with shares 100/100/5, for example.)

Cheers,
Brian

I suspect it will eventually sort it out, my approach, realizing that the Seti folks are getting overwhelmed by the forced move from SETI classic is to reduct my shares that go to SETI -- Einstein and Climate are not getting near as many new users, the Seti classic expatriates primarily move to Seti BOINC.

setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu. 86400 IN CNAME galileo.ssl.berkeley.edu.
galileo.ssl.berkeley.edu. 86400 IN A 128.32.18.173

setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu. 86400 IN A 66.28.250.125

Is this correct? traceroute & dig reports me something from:

'250.28.66.in-addr.arpa. 10800 IN SOA auth1.dns.cogentco.com.'

or is this a hook?

Can you public your IP's on seti@home?

Thanks a lot!
