I have been running SETI@Home for years I have recently started using seti@home on BOINC. I also signed up for predictor, which also uses BOINC. However, I have a problem in which when I am participating in predictor, I cant get work units from seti. I always get a "no projets available" or "no projects repsonding" message [or something similar to that]. I was under the impression that one of the selling points of BOINC was its ability to be flexible and be used for multiple projects. I have assigned resources for each project [1/3 for predictor, 2/3 for seti], but this does nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? or am i doing something wrong? |

As the messages tell you, it's the SETI project that has "no work available" or has "no schedulers respond". It's not your fault, and it's completely unrelated to running multiple projects. |

Actually I think at times it might be due to multiple projects. If you have a set of predictor files that fill the cache then SETI ones will not download until the predictor ones are done. Only trouble is predictor is more reliable at having units available so they tend to get downloaded more often than seti. THe allocation of resources does not tend to affect this. ON a different post I have just had my first Pirates download! |
