Hi all, I have a machine that I use as a low traffic web & file server : this means that the machine can run boinc happly all the time without affecting the everyday work that it has to do. Now, how do I run the boinc client as a "service" ? TIA Marco |

Look at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/bare_core.php, there are a lot of startup scripts available for download. |

Look at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/bare_core.php, there are a lot of startup scripts available for download. Unfortunately this link doesn't seem to work anymore. As a Linux newbie, after installing Ubuntu on a pII-350 to get to know Linux a little, of course I installed boinc and an optimized seti client. So far so good. with the run_client and run_manager things seem to be working okay, now for the important part: see title. :) run boinc as a service. Already found that page you referred to, but that link ("You may want to automatically start the core client at boot time.") doesn't work. ("Fatal error: Call to undefined function: page_head() in /home/boincadm/boinc/doc/auto_start.php on line 3") Anyone who can help a linux noob? Greetings, Sander |
