I am currently running Boinc Manager 4.43 (GUI) with no problems. I downloaded version 5.25, decompressed, double clicked on BOINC.pkg. When I get to the "Select a Destination" screen, it says it cannot install on either of my hard drives. Below is the contents of the installer log: Oct 29 12:34:37 : BOINC Manager Installation Log Oct 29 12:34:37 : Opened from: /Users/tony/downloads/boinc_5.2.5_macOSX/BOINC.pkg Oct 29 12:34:37 : Hardware Model: PowerMac3,1 @ 400 MHz, 640 MB Oct 29 12:34:37 : Running OS Build: 7W98 Oct 29 12:34:38 : Installer Language: English Oct 29 12:34:39 : Requirement: requires "certain file content criteria" PASS for root=(none), domain=0 Oct 29 12:34:43 : disabled Obiwan because the package can only be installed onto the root volume. I had this problem when I tried to install it this morning, and after trying a couple o different things I noticed this at the start of the readme file: Troubleshooting tip: The installer writes a file /Library/Receipts/BOINC.pkg. If the installer refuses to let you install, trash this file and try again. I tried deleting that file and the next time it worked with no problems. |

Thanks Tom. Your suggestion solved my problem. I deleted /Library/Receipts/BOINC.pkg, and then the instalation worked fine. I am now running 5.2.5 Thanks again.
