Have a 60G HD on this notebook (Windows XP) but can't get work units to download. Message says not enough disk space allocated but have 15G set in Preffs. Any ideas/suggestions?

What are the rest of the settings in that area of the preferences?

Use no more than 15 GB disk space
Leave at least ??? GB disk space free
Use no more than ??% of total disk space

How much unused space is actually on that drive?

Use NMT 15GB
Leave AL 20GB Free
Use NMT 25% of disk space

Note: Currently 75% of drive is unused.

I belive that sometimes these parameters start driving each other, and make BOINC think that there's not enough space available. And, the page isn't clear on what is correct to use.

I've got mine set as follows:
Use no more than 10 GB disk space
Leave at least .1 GB disk space free
Use no more than 15% of total disk space

I think that "Leave at least" figure can mess things up, by looking for unallocated space but including the space that's allowed for BOINC. Suggest you try dropping that figure to minimal, leave the others alone, and see if that gets you going.

Thanks MJ, have made that change. Now just need to wait the 23 hours BOINK (v4.19) says it will wait to try again.

Note that I am new to BOINK but used the classic version until about a year ago. I see in other Q&A reference is made to an Update command, but do not see that in this version. Is Update in 4.45 only?

The Update command exists in older BOINC versions, but to find it you must click on the "Projects" tab in BOINC, then right click on the project to bring up a menu of options. "Update" will be one of the options.
