i have just changed the router on my network and keep getting failed messages when trying to send back data and upload new data. i have noticed that my new router has assigned different ip addresses to my pc's than the old one did and i am wondering if this has caused the problem

Hi Ian,

if you look at the front page, you'll see this message:

"July 26, 2005
We recently made a DNS switch affecting the scheduler. This and more can be read about in detail in Technical News"

And from the Tech News :
"...but while the new DNS maps propogate some users will be unable to contact the scheduler. This should clear up relatively quickly (several hours for most of the world, maybe days for the few with ISPs that have finicky DNS servers). "

Basically they changed addresses and the mail is taking a little bit of time to be re-routed.

Although it is possible that your change of ISP is the reason. I'd wait a day or so before having major ISP concerns though.

In the mean time, have you considered joining a second project (for times when there is no SETI work available)?
