I could, but I might make a mistake and it would take quite a while. YOU can however click on the Wiki link above my signature. Type in "RAC" or "Recent Average Credit" in the search box. You'll also find out just about everything there is to know about Boinc in the Wiki.

I saw it Paul. Hopefully the big wigs will do what you asked.

It just makes so much sense to me. I mean, like other communities we "self-organized" to try to fill the "gaps" ... but there are some that we just cannot ...

You would not believe how much better I feel about not worrying about the general questions as I know you (and others) will get most of them, looking in the Wiki if needed, and if you can't get it we try to rally the troops ...

Oh well, not the first battle I have lost (well, lost till this point) ... :(

Paul

Start a petition that we can get behind. This will show DA that the crunchers agree that the wiki should be official and boldly linkd to on the front page.
And a link in the help menu of the manager would be useful too.

98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.

I am not sure that it would be effective.

I can argue this from both sides. *I* think it is the right thing to do. But, I can also support the concept that the projects need to separate (or want to) their information from the unofficial sites like mine. Obviously I think that this does not serve the participants well.

The projects *ARE* aware of (or should be) the interest of the participants of information and documentation as it has be discussed in the forums a lot. You also see a lot of people refferring people there for answers.

It is not a simple thing, and I can understand that this may be something that the projects do not want to have. It is a problem that does not have an easy or obvious "right" answer.

One obvious parallel is the Stat sites. Each project has a small section on statistics, yet the bulk is done via the 3rd party sites. I also have argued that ALL stats work should be off the project sites ... and to similarly make the same decision with documentation. Just as an example, my site is in English ... but what of our international collegues? There is a small German Wiki, and I think there is one in French planned ... in those cases, having a native write up is desirable. So, I think we should have an API so that you would use the stat site, documentation site, etc. through the use of parameters ...

Anyway, *I* feel that if I started a petition it would not have the effectiveness needed ...
