I've compiled the boinc 4.1 linux client today for 2 of my hosts and was wondering if anyone else is using it yet - and if so if they know of any surprises I'm in store for!!! I found out it will do a project reset on upgrade since it's a change in major version number, so I'm running down my cache now so I won't dump any work units. The cache should run out tomorrow, and I'll upgrade it then - unless someone already has some experiences with it that they want to share so I'll change my mind. |

I would recommend people hold off on this release until we have had a chance to let the Alpha group and the Dev group look over it. Already I've found a few problems that'll cause the SETI_BOINC application to terminate. Also, that client should fail to get any work from the public project since the public project is still flagged as 3.19/3.20 and not 4.0. At this point we cannot say if their are any other adverse side-effects with the development branch at this point. ----- Rom BOINC Development Team, U.C. Berkeley |

Berkeley Well, that'll do it. Thanks Rom. |
