Hi! I searched the FAQ's and didn't find anything on my problem, which is this: I Recently installed a switch inbetween my broadband connection to my computer. Eversince that I haven't been able to download any new WU's (uploading seems to work fine). I suspect that the switch contained a firewall of some sort and I suspect it is blocking the port which BOINc tries to connect with. How can I overcome this? |

It will depend on the switch or the router (it is usually the router that has the firewall built in). BOINC needs to get out on port 80. BOINC WIKI |

It will depend on the switch or the router (it is usually the router that has the firewall built in). BOINC needs to get out on port 80. How would I solve this? Is there anyway of changing the port-setting on the BOINC-client or the firewall hardware? What message are you getting? Please cut n paste it to this post..... If I remember correctly (they dissapeared from my message with the last reboot and now the client can't find any projects) it just said "Cannot connect to host, retrying in ...... seconds" |
