I have upgraded from 4.25 to 4.45 and the host location in the log shows blanck: here's my initial log entry: 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM||Starting BOINC client version 4.49 for windows_intelx86 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM||Data directory: C:Program FilesBOINC 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM||Version Change Detected (4.48 -> 4.49); running CPU benchmarks 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM|LHC@home|Computer ID: 37049; location: home; project prefs: default 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM|ProteinPredictorAtHome|Computer ID: 129889; location: home; project prefs: default 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM|SETI@home|Computer ID: 1115906; location: home; project prefs: default 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM|SETI@home Beta Test|Computer ID: 912; location: home; project prefs: default 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2005-06-29 20:48:14) 6/30/2005 3:43:48 AM||General prefs: using separate prefs for home 6/30/2005 3:43:49 AM||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address What part of you're current log is out of the normal. Berkeley was changing a DB table(last week) which caused Venues to be displayed as a number, and changed the download quota. I thought they had fixed that. your 4.45 looks normal, unless I'm missing something. tony |

See the entry that reports to the seti, the information after the location has no name (home description should be expected), but there is no info! 04/07/2005 01:04:43||Starting BOINC client version 4.45 for windows_intelx86 04/07/2005 01:04:43||Data directory: D:\BOINC 04/07/2005 01:04:43|SETI@home|Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 04/07/2005 01:04:44|climateprediction.net|Computer ID: 181223; location: home; project prefs: default 04/07/2005 01:04:44|orbit@home|Computer ID: 504; location: home; project prefs: default 04/07/2005 01:04:44|SETI@home|Computer ID: 130599; location: ; project prefs: default <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1331"> |

That AFAIK is what you see when using an "Optimized" application. Any of you out there to confirm this? |

Problem resolved on my acount page the host venue location has no location selected! When i changed to home the situation resolved for itself after an update! I must have changed that by accident and not noticed that! In this case it's user fault not Boinc, like the majority of the cases! <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1331"> |

Glad to hear it's OK now. I installed an Optimized client to see if yours was normal. I forgot to edit and App xml and lost all my Seti WUs, but here's the log: 7/3/2005 8:51:39 PM||Starting BOINC client version 4.49 for windows_intelx86 7/3/2005 8:51:39 PM||Data directory: C:\Program Files\BOINC 7/3/2005 8:51:40 PM|SETI@home|Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM|Folding@Home BOINC Beta|Computer ID: 674; location: home; project prefs: default 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM|LHC@home|Computer ID: 37049; location: home; project prefs: default 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM|ProteinPredictorAtHome|Computer ID: 129889; location: home; project prefs: default 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM|SETI@home|Computer ID: 1115906; location: home; project prefs: default 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM|SETI@home Beta Test|Computer ID: 912; location: home; project prefs: default 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2005-07-02 20:22:04) 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM||General prefs: using separate prefs for home 7/3/2005 8:51:41 PM||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address |

I am sorry that you have lost WU in the process for helping me, but thanks for the help you gave! <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1331"> |

That AFAIK is what you see when using an "Optimized" application. Any of you out there to confirm this?Yup. And it doesn't make any difference anyway... if venue is set to "---" it will default to using home. I intentionally set mine to "---" so the 1 or 2 that have a different venue jump out at me when viewing 'puters from account page. 7/4/2005 11:51:32 AM||Starting BOINC client version 4.45 for windows_intelx86 7/4/2005 11:51:32 AM||Data directory: D:\BOINC 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|SETI@home|Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|climateprediction.net|Computer ID: 160161; location: home; project prefs: default 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|Einstein@Home|Computer ID: 5122; location: home; project prefs: default 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|LHC@home|Computer ID: 24991; location: home; project prefs: default 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|orbit@home|Computer ID: 1011; location: home; project prefs: default 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|ProteinPredictorAtHome|Computer ID: 40107; location: home; project prefs: default 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM|SETI@home|Computer ID: 250963; location: 237881; project prefs: default 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2005-06-14 18:06:58) 7/4/2005 11:51:33 AM||General prefs: no separate prefs for 237881; using your defaults Notice the SETI location. - da shu @ HeliOS, "A child's exposure to technology should never be predicated on an ability to afford it." |
