This is a continuation of this thread http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=16241 with a different aspect of weirdness:

I just checked my second computer. The computer stats page ( http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=65848 ) shows 30 WUs in progress while my client only shows 7.

Even more mysterious: The "time sent" falls in at least 4 cases into a timeframe where my computer was shut-off!

It's a phenomenon that has become known as 'ghost WUs'. The server thinks it sent you some WUs, but they never made it to your machine.

As to your computer being shut off, the server will absolutely not try to send you work unless you requested it. Perhaps a system clock is set wrong somewhere?

Heffed,

this was also my first thought. However, my computer is set to automatically synchronize the system time at every startup with the Internet and the time stamp is correct.

Is there possibly a difference in timezone?

John,

I took account of that. The time-stamp on the computer stats page is UTC and I live in UTC+2. My computer was shut down 3 hours before and after the WUs were sent.
