Hello, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am starting to get very irked by Berkely just throwing switches without warning. I am tired of having to say "Nobody knows" when my team members ask why something is happening. This last one is outrageous. The removal of all zero-credit accounts from the team pages. I have read another thread here and understand it was done to conserve resources. That's fine....but where was the announcment? The warning? Now I am going to have to try and explain to potentially 17 people why they just got bounced without warning. Some of those people have been with the project for a long time and crunched thousands of classic units. But because they were slow to switch to BOINC....they get blind-sided? Despite the troubles with launching a new program like this (which I understand and accept) there is no excuse for treating people like mushrooms. Just talk to us already! |

The member count on my team page is still correct. I don't think anybody's been booted. The lists are simply not showing members with zero credit. When they receive some credit they will re-appear. |

To be honest.....I can deal with my members coming to me and complaining that they don't see their name on the list anymore. I can deal with the technical problems. My primary point is that perhaps it is time to put away the slide rules, briefly, and start considering the massive human factor involved in this project. You can't treat the people involved like you would treat the computers involved. I don't think it is too much to ask that the SETI homepage have daily (or more) updates and when something major like the disappearance of member names from a team is planned....team starters get notice so they can inform their members or have answers when they come inquiring. Common courtesy is all I am asking for. :) |

whats more annoying is that the ones that are left aren't in the right order... |
