I've installed SETI and Einstein. The Boinc Manager states that everything looks good and indicates that it is downloading.

However, nothing is coming in. I have a program that reads the download rates, and nothing. Zilch. All of the data amount indicators in Boinc also maintain a steady, frustrating zero.

I left it on overnight, just in case. Still nada!

Thanks,
Vic Kryston

I appear to be having a similar issue-
I started using BOINC and it downloaded ~6 work units. I finished 2 by their deadline (today). One I had to send manually with the Update button, one sent automatically but never registered on my account. Update never got me new work units. Knowing that I'd never crunch the remaining 4 work units in under 24 hours, I tried Reset. It cleared out my backlogged work, but didn't give me anything new. I then tried Update and it didn't give me anything new. Finally I detached the seti project, reattached it and got one work unit. One unit is enough for now, but it will be incredibly obnoxious if I have to manually update 2 or 3 times, manually detach and manually reattach every time I want to get more work. And heaven forbid I ever want to reliably get ~credited~ for work done.

Vic: Go into your Applications/Utilities folder and launch Activity Monitor. You can look at this and see if the SETI and/or Einstein is actually using CPU time. There is a known problem with running SETI and Einstein together in BOINC Manager. Essentially, Einstein will say it's pausing at the end of an hour of running, but it doesn't pause - it continues to take half the CPU cycles away from SETI. One of the Einstein developers thinks he found the problem in a BOINC Library, but when a new release might be forthcoming is anyone's guess.

Check your settings in BOINC Manager and make sure it is NOT set to "Suspend" any of the projects. You should be able to click on the Work Tab and see if there are any Work Units waiting. Also, what messages, if any, show up in the Messages Tab? What type of connection do you have - dial-up, DSL, Cable? Have you modified any of the the default settings in your SETI or Einstein accounts?
