Hi, I was just having a browse through Paul D Buck's BOINC-Wiki when I came across this page particularly the section titled Subcategories. If you click on the relevant links (and sub-links on the pages that follow thereafter) you get a list of most of the error messages and detailed explanations of what they mean. This is such a useful resource that I feel the need to highlight it and the following links: Articles in category "BOINC Error Message" BOINC FAQ Articles in category "BOINC Information Message" Articles in category "BOINC Message" Articles in category "BOINC Status Message" Articles in category "BOINC Warning Message" Apologies to BOINC users who already know this, but it's new to me and may be to other users aswell. For those users on this board who like to help newbies (and oldbies?) pointing out some of the sub-links contained in the pages from the above links may be useful. May the Force be with you Join TeamACC Sometimes I think we are alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we are not. In either case the idea is quite staggering. |

The Wiki is new, so, that is where the new and the updates are happening. That being said, there is a wealth of material in the old site, and there is a search there too ... I do strongly encourage you as a new user to read the BOINC Application Owner's Manual. Also, mouse in on ANY term that you have not looked up. My favorite "bad" example is a simple term like "credit", when you start to follow links, well, lets just say that it seems to eventually touch just about everything. As a new user, the FAQ (Blue ? on the first page of the site) has a wealth of information in question / answer for. Looking at the use, people only seem to look at the "speed" question and ignore the rest. Anyway, the Wiki is gaining 10-20 new topics and links each day. You can look under the "special" menu and see the latest pages and the changes. You can even see what the edits were with the diff capability... |
